After a very strong season, Division 1 and Division 2 played their respective finals on Thursday at Rosebud on the North Course.<\/p>\n
Division 1 played against Flinders who had beaten Sorrento in the last round at The National, while Division 2 played Portsea who had beaten Sorrento in the first round at Devilbend.<\/p>\n
The day was very windy with a brief down pour and both teams had their work cut out for them. By the end of the day, what Division 1 didn\u2019t realise was that Division 2 had beaten Portsea to win their flag, an unbelievable result with a 5\/2 win, led by Lou England as Team Captain.<\/p>\n
Now Division 1 hunkered down with a wonderful early win by Pia Perkins which set the scene for the rest of us to follow suit.<\/p>\n
A trifecta for Division 1 and a well deserved win for our wonderful team winning 5\/2, led by Team Captain Sue Semmens.<\/p>\n
A special mention to Alison Mighell and Andrea Burne who remained undefeated throughout the season.<\/p>\n
We would like to thank everyone involved in our teams and also to our wonderful caddies who look after us so well.<\/p>\n
We all had a wonderful celebration dinner on Friday night with a Hawaiian theme where Chrissy Skinner wowed us all by arriving in a wet suit and carrying a surf board to the whoops and cheers of us all.<\/p>\n
As Women\u2019s Captain I am truly grateful for such a wonderful group of women who all work together as team mates but more importantly, great friends.<\/p>\n
I wish both teams all the very best for the 2027 season next year – let’s see if we can do it again.<\/p>\n
